Yoga Ambassador Tour is a specialised familiarisation trip for established & practising yoga professionals from around the world to have a first-hand experience of Kerala, the southern state of India, the country proud to be known as the birth place of Yoga. This 10 day educational tour of Kerala as part of Yoga Ambassador Tour will not only showcase the varied product range of Kerala but also gives an opportunity to the delegates to engage in various yoga based activities. The tour will be coming to an end on 21st JUN’18 which eventually is the International Yoga Day, and the delegates would also be getting a chance to participate in mass yoga drill. The tentative programme schedule as under.

Day 01 – 13th June : Arrival of Delegates. Welcomed and transfer to respective hotels.

Day 02 – 14th June : International Yoga Conference at Kovalam

Day 03 – 15th June : Morning exclusive Yoga Sessions. After Breakfast, proceed for a Full day excursion to Kanyakumari (90km / 3 hours) (Cape Comorin , also known as the Lands End), the southern tip of india and the confluence of the 3 oceans.

Kanniyakumari district, which lies in the southernmost tip of Peninsular India, is famous for its majestic hills, virgin beaches, pristine rivers and meandering rivulets. Enroute visit Maruthwamala (The name Maruthwamala originates from the Tamil ‘marunthu vazhum malai’ which means the mountain of medicines. Legend and mythology attribute the hill to be a fallen portion of Sanjeevi, mountain of medicinal herbs that Hanuman carried from the Himalayas to Lanka to heal the fatal wounds of Laksmana), followed by lunch at  Vivekananda Ashram. Later take ferry to Visit Vivekanada Rock Memorial followed by meditation session at the Vivekananda Rock. Return drive to your hotel at Kovalam after witnessing the sunset?

Day 04 – 16th June : Morning Yoga Sessions. After Breakfast, check out from your hotel and proceed to Jaytayupara at Chadayamangalam (51 Km/1 ½ Hrs). Post lunch yoga at Elephant Rock at Jaytayupara and then proceed to Kollam/ Quilon (90 km / 3 hours). Check in to your hotel.

Kollam or Quilon, an old sea port town on the Arabian coast , stands on the Ashtamudi lake. Ashtamudi Lake here is a gateway to the Kerala backwaters, a network of waterways rich with vegetation.

Day 05 – 17th June : MorningYoga Sessions. After Breakfast, check out and drive to Alappuzha (90Km/2 ½hours) and embark Houseboat for a day cruise through the magical backwaters ofKerala towards Kumarakom. Traditional Kerala Lunch will be served onboard.  Disembark Houseboat at Kumarakom.

Kumarakom is a charming emerald peninsula jutting into the ever-effervescent Vembanad Lake. It will take you into the heart of the scenic lake where you will come across plenty of traditional country barges, boats, and canoes. The fresh water of the lake runs into the mainland making a labyrinth of lagoons, brooks, canals, and waterways. This backwater is a haven for countless varieties of species of both fauna and flora.

Check in to your hotel. By evening enjoy the Traditional Cultural programs of Kerala.

Day 06 – 18th June : Morning Yoga Sessions. After Breakfast, check out from your resort and proceed to Munnar.

Day 07 – 19th June : Morning Yoga Sessions . Breakfast at the hotel. Morning visit to Dolmens, the prehistoric place where renowned Yogis did yoga and meditation. Practice meditation for an hour. Munnar is a picturesque hill station situated in the eastern part of Kerala. The town is located at the confluence of three mountain streams — Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni, and Kudala—and is known for its clean, neat, and brightly painted ambience.

By afternoon proceed for a Sightseeing tour of Munnar visiting Tea Museum, Neelakurinji Blooming. Neelakurinji or ‘Strobilanthes kunthianum’ blooms in 40 or so varieties, a majority of them being blue in color. ‘Neela’ literally translates to ‘blue’ and kurinji is the name given to it by the tribals of the area. This monumental event is the blooming of the Neelakurinji flower, which appears once every 12 years, and can only be viewed here in Munnar.

Day 08 – 20th June : Morning Yoga Sessions. After breakfast drive to Cochin ( 150 km / 5 hours). Check in Hotel. By afternoon proceed for a visit of Fort Kochi & Mattancherry.The tour covers – The Dutch Palace at Mattancherry, renowned for its wall murals depicting scenes from the Ramayana.The Jewish Synagogue at the heart of what is locally called the Jew Town. The St.Francis Church, the oldest European church in India. The Santa Cruz Basilicaoriginally built in 1557 by the Portuguese. The Chinese fishing nets are hugecantilevered fishing nets believed to have brought to Kochi by Chinese trade.

Later by the evening, proceed to a local theatre to witness Kathakali, one of the internationally famed and oldest art form and a national dance form of India.

Day 09 – 21st June : After breakfast, proceed to Participate in Yoga Day Celebrations. Rest of the Day at Leisure. By evening transfer to Farewell networking dinner venue. Later back to hotel.

Day 10 – 22nd June : In time transfer to Cochin Airport for Departure
